Medicine in Poland: Application Deadlines 2027/28

In short. Only PUMS has published a 2027/28 application deadline: apply by 20 July 2027. Lublin opens registration on 22 February 2027. Silesia's round for the October start runs from 1 April to 30 September 2027. Gdańsk and Szczecin have not published their 2027 dates. Based on 2026, expect Gdańsk to open in mid-March 2027 and close in mid-July. Expect Szczecin to run from late May to about 20 July 2027.

This guide covers Medicine (MD), 6 years, taught in English, at five schools:

• The Medical University of Gdańsk (MUG).
• Poznan University of Medical Sciences (PUMS).
• The Medical University of Silesia, in Katowice.
• The Medical University of Lublin.
• The Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin (PUM).

"Expected" means a pattern from past years, not an announcement. Each section below gives the source. The chart shows every date on one timeline.

PUMS (Poznan): apply by 20 July 2027

To start in September 2027, apply to Poznan University of Medical Sciences by 20 July 2027. Admissions for this intake opened on 1 September 2026.^[1]

PUMS's 2027/28 rules allow applications until 31 July 2027. Its website says 20 July. Go by the earlier date.

How booking works:

1. You apply. PUMS checks that you are eligible. This takes up to one week.
2. You pay the 600 PLN exam and interview fee.
3. You pick a session, a date and a place. An admission officer confirms if places are left.

PUMS publishes no separate deadline for each session. Sessions run in person from 16 March to 26 July 2027. Poznan has one every month from March to July, and two in July. Others are in Bangkok, New York, Toronto, Abu Dhabi, Bergen, Kristiansand, Oslo, London and Dublin. More are still to be announced.

Two sessions fall after the 20 July deadline: Toronto on 24 July and Poznan on 26 July. Ask PUMS who can book them.

Lublin: registration opens 22 February 2027

For 2027/28, online registration at the Medical University of Lublin opens on 22 February 2027. That is two months earlier than in 2026. Recruitment ends by 7 October 2027 at the latest. That date ends the whole process. It is not the last day to register.^[2]

Two more dates are due:

• By 15 December 2026: the detailed rules for the test and the interview.
• By 31 January 2027: the Rector's timetable, with the test and interview days.

The 2027 closing date for registration is not out yet. Here is 2026:

Silesia (Katowice): two rounds

For 2027/28, the Medical University of Silesia runs two rounds:^[3]

• For the October start: 1 April to 30 September 2027. Studies begin on 1 October.
• For a start in the second semester: 15 October 2027 to 14 January 2028.

The October round can fill up to 65% of the places. The university's recruitment board sets the registration deadlines inside each round, so check them when the round opens.

If you qualify, two more dates follow:

• By 20 September 2027: your original certificate, if you finish school in 2027 with the IB, the EB or another foreign certificate.
• By 30 September 2027: a medical certificate. Check the date for your round.

There is also a 2026/27 round, from 12 October 2026 to 10 January 2027. It is for a start in the second semester, in 2027.

Gdańsk: not published yet, so here is 2026

The Medical University of Gdańsk has not published its 2027 dates. Its 2027/28 rules set limits:^[4]

• Registration must open by 30 June 2027.
• The main round ends on 31 August 2027.
• A supplementary round can run from 1 September to 15 October 2027.
• The exact dates for registration, exams, grades and payments come out by 31 May 2027.

Agencies that work with the university ran more dates from May to July, some in person, for example in Norway. An agency's deadline may be earlier than the university's.

Official 2027 dates have not been announced yet. In 2026, registration ran from 18 March to 15 July. Based on that, registration is expected to open in mid-March 2027, and the Medicine deadline is expected in mid-July 2027. Exams are expected from May to July 2027, mostly in July. This is a pattern, not an announcement.

Szczecin: not published yet, so here is 2026

The Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin (PUM) has not published its 2027 registration period. Its 2026/27 rules were adopted on 25 March 2026, and the 2027/28 rules are not out yet.^[5]

Official 2027 dates have not been announced yet. Based on 2024 to 2026, registration is expected to run from late May to about 20 July 2027. The period is usually announced between March and May. This is a pattern, not an announcement.

Only some certificates need the Szczecin quiz. It has no fixed date. If you sit it, your link comes in the last days of registration and works for 48 hours. A link you never open counts as a fail. See who sits the quiz.

In 2026, conditional offers went out on 24 July, 31 July and 7 August. Wait-list offers ran from 24 July to 11 September, and rejections from 14 to 30 September.
